About Robert Marks

Economist and policy adviser with experience working on macroeconomics; environment, biodiversity and climate policy; public finance; and socioeconomic impact assessments. I joined Economics for the Environment Consultancy (eftec) as a Senior Consultant in March 2024 after working for two and a half years in the Environment Global Practice in the World Bank Headquarters in Washington D.C. Prior to that I was both an economist and policy adviser at HM Treasury in the Enterprise and Growth Unit and Public Spending Group.Since joining eftec I have been a project manager and team leader for clients including The Crown Estate and Eurostat. I am an author of several high-profile published policy and research reports including The Changing Wealth of Nations 2024 (World Bank) and was a core team member / contributor to The Dasgupta Review on the Economics of Biodiversity (HM Treasury). I have experience presenting analytical and policy findings to small and large audiences, managing teams and working with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
