While continuing to provide custom, design build projects for CIMCO's clients, I have taken on the additional roles of handling the overall administration of the Branch. While assisting clients to get their refrigeration projects from conception through to design, I am also managing the day to day activities of our construction, service, sales, engineering and administration staff at the branch level.

In my role as a sales engineer, I have been mostly responsible for developing new projects for clients in the refrigeration industry. I worked with customers, both end users as well as contracting or engineering firms, to develop a custom suited refrigeration system that was correct for their application. I was responsible for the up front design, budgeting, estimation and contract negotiation. I was also still highly involved in the project execution, coordinating between the various stakeholders on multi-million dollar projects with many complex challenges.

After working in package engineering for CIMCO manufacturing, I moved to our project engineering team. Here I was focused on full project execution, varying from ice rinks to cold storage and food production facilities. In this role I was responsible for coordinating with other trades, developing construction drawings, procuring and coordinating equipment, working through issues with our construction crew, and assisting with troubleshooting commissioning issues.

As a package designer at CIMCO refrigeration, I was responsible for every part of the manufacturing process for large industrial packaged refrigeration systems. I prepared P&I diagrams for complex refrigeration systems, developed 3D models and manufacturing drawings, and developed BOMs. I was then the direct corespondent with the shop floor, ensuring build compliance with drawings, specs and making sure everything worked in real life as it did in design.

For my role as an application engineer at Weir minerals I was involved in selecting equipment and preparing quotations for mining customers. My primarily focus was slurry pumps and mill circuit pumps. I assisted outside sales staff with technical queries and proposals. I worked with engineering firms in the mining and water/wastewater industries, reviewing detailed technical specifications and proposing the correct equipment to meet the customer's requirements.

Working as a summer student at Javelin was a great learning experience. I was exposed to various sales roles, customer support, and learned a great deal about SolidWorks and 3D modelling in general. I was mostly tasked with assisting the technical support team with software solutions, and also assisted the sales team with product demonstrations. In my final year I prepared web based self-study training modules for customers to access.
