Under direction of the Program Manager or Project Manager, this position serves as the full-time on-site supervisor responsible for coordination of on-site construction, installation, and commissioning activities associated with the implementation of a Material Handling System. Hand selected for the second time by upper management to oversee one of two first installations of a brand new palletized frozen warehouse system that Dematic has recently rolled out. The system consists of several subsystems from various countries such as Italy, Germany, Czech, China, Mexico and the United States. The most integrated system the company has ever produced.  I was personally hand selected by executive management to oversee the installation and commissioning of the single largest material handling project ever sold (~$200 Million) in the company’s 101 year history – this system fills a 1.4 million square foot warehouse owned by Nordstrom in Riverside, California. Work with project manager on scheduling installation and commissioning operations that cater to the customer’s go live schedule. Lead daily, weekly, and monthly meetings with on site installation teams, engineers, project management, and executive management on planning, installation, logistics / supply, and lessons learned. Work with state, county, and city inspectors with permits, schedule inspections, obtain Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO), and final signoff of permits once installation and commissioning is completed.  Extensive knowledge of ‘California Seismic Category D’ engineering and installation standards.

Project Manager

Atlanta, Georgia, Us

Plan, design, execute, and complete projects on time, and mitigate risk within budget and scope. Manage up to 10 projects simultaneously, set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor and make adjustments as they progress. Prepare reports for upper management and clients, ensure forecasting and budget are maintained, and assess risks. Experience working at Walmart and Amazon distribution centers and warehouses. Control time and cost in relation to the scope of a project.Accomplishments: Key players and single point of accountability related to projects; these range from $900k to $4.5M in price to the customer. Identify and mitigate risks that could potentially cause loss of profit or quality, and mitigate them accordingly. Plan, execute, and monitor projects from sales turnover to customer handover, assigning employees, resources, and manage a budget—all catered to best deliver the product to the customer and maximize profits for organization. Identified shortfalls of manufacturing in the Mexico plant; made recommendations to management to change our software so that plant could not see our on-site delivery dates. Today the Mexico plant can only see our manufacturing end date request and has to forecast for manufacturing end dates which greatly improved the materials arriving at job sites on time. Introduced a standardized process with milestones and goals after recognizing that installation processes for repeated tasks were not standardized, causing different managers getting different results. Held post job meetings / after action reviews where improvements and shortfalls were discussed; installation managers began to get similar results and shared new ideas to improve the processes.
