I am committed to the following principals that guide all aspects of my work as a Special Education Administrator.Commitment to the potential of each child: I believe that every child has individual potential that is deserving of development to the fullest extent possible. This is the ultimate challenge, and responsibility, of special education. Recognizing the complexities and challenges intrinsic in this work, including fiscal and programmatic constraints, I dedicate myself to overcoming obstacles and removing barriers through diligence, perseverance and my knowledge of resources. Collaboration is the basis of effective educational interventions: I believe that the developing of positive relationships and a commitment to working collaboratively is a necessity in educating children with special needs. The wide range of responsibility in the field of special education necessitates that the effective educational leader have close, positive associations with fellow administrators, staff, parents, students and a multitude of outside agencies. Educational team building is essential to quality program development: Designing and developing programs, and keeping existing programs viable, takes place directly from collaboration and team building. New and ongoing concepts must include team discussion, planning, and management through ongoing formal and informal needs assessment. When there is a positive approach to the implementation of programs, with all team members working together, the chance of success becomes more than a possibility; it becomes a reality.
