About Robert Mcconkey

My career has been heavily focused on managing in the not-for-profit sector. Most recently with Habitat for Humanity Hamilton. I served 8 years as the Executive Director and CEO. I derived immense satisfaction from helping families in need of affordable housing. Building up a strong organization that was capable of helping more families to realize their dream of breaking free from the bonds of poverty was my goal. I have owned and operated Canada Flag & Banner since 1996. We provide customized products for companies, BIA's, NGO's, municipalities and so forth. We also manufacture banner bracket hardware which is one of the strongest in the marketplace. That product has been used at the Salt Lake City Olympic Games, the Dubai Shopping Festival, Canada Summer Games and many more events, as well as in municipalities across Canada, the USA and other spots around the world.Summarizing my strongest skill area, I would say that I have a unique ability to see the big picture and can assemble the right team members to accomplish the mission of the organization. The key is to create solid foundations from which to build for the future. I have a long track record of leaving organizations better than when I arrived. I believe that a CEO should come in make their contributions and then pass the torch for another to carry.
