In addition to Instructor, also was hired as the Operations Manager for the Basic Wheel Division. Oversaw the operations, facilities, work orders, physical security and personnel accountability of 165 faculty members across 3 different facilities, and performed duties as needed by the Department Director.

Afghanistan

Performed outside of my career field of mechanics. Was selected to lead a team 6 team members to provide personal security to U.S. and foreign coalition force officers. Was responsible for the route planning, readiness, inspection and execution of movement and safety, to accommodate safe environments for diplomatic meetings. Daily engagement with foreign nationals was a key part of daily tasks to build relationships with Afghan military and police.

Taught driving on large 2 1/2 ton and up vehicles and Fifth Wheel vehicles with semitrailers.

Served as Senior Mechanic and Recovery Specialist for a Stryker Calvary Unit. Cross-trained on Stryker Systems, remove, repair and replace engines, transmissions, transfer cases, driveline components, high pressure hydraulics, steering, fuel and electrical systems. Secondary duties were Recovery Specialist, tasked with vehicle and Stryker recovery and towing in adverse environments.

Performed duties of Force Protection witch include gate guard, vehicle searches, tower guard, and promoted lead enlisted Supervisor of a guard shift at a point of entry. Recieved training on RAID cameras, biometric recognition system, Rapiscan for personal searches, and administering first aid to local nationals. Worked with and supervised contracted foreign nationals.

Hand selected to serve as the military supervisor of a team that refurbished vehicle generators/ alternators and differentials. Worked with civilian contractors that assisted with training and production. Additional duties included cost analysis of repair costs and expenditure limits.
