Manage the Department's Traffic Operations in the Collision Reconstruction, Alcohol Initiatives Section, Automated Traffic Enforcement and School Safety. Direct, plan, implement, and execute operational, administrative, and regulatory functions for the Department’s Traffic Division. Serve as a technical and a key advisor to the Police Chief and County Executive on matters concerning vehicular, pedestrian and mass transit issues. Develop and implement policies and procedures pertaining to the protection and safety of the facility and staff. Responsible for planning, preparation, and execution of all emergency preparedness, security, and special events to ensure that there is continuity of operation plan in effect in the event of a security breach or natural disasters. Liaise and coordinate with law enforcement agencies for special and dignitary events to manage functional boundaries, interact with high-ranking officials from parallel organizations and synchronize efforts. Identify key personnel resources, support equipment and materials needed to conduct operations. Ensure personnel resources are fully equipped and trained to meet challenges. Execute payroll, control and monitor overtime of Division with combined personnel (150+) and operating budget of $17,000,000 and $250,000 in grant funds from varies sources.
