(Pfc - Cpl 1993-1996) In March 1993 I was in boot camp, After boot camp I went on to Marine Combat Training and eventually to my Military Occupational Skills course to become a Bulk Fueler within Active Duty Marine Corps. During my school training I was taught how to set-up and conduct refueling operations on ground vehicles and aviation. While at my duty locations I assisted in the set-up and distribution of petroleum product to aviation and ground vehicles. I took fuel samples prior to aviation flying for the day to test for sediment and water in aviation fuel. Bad contaminated fuel could result in a downed or crashing of aircraft. Possibly leading to serious injury or death. I was also a forklift operator for the Marine Corp in the Warehouse. I pulled down boxes to be tactically loaded or unloaded on trucks, staged, inventoried, cleaned and inspected of its content and gear. At the end of the day all gear would be put back into its storage boxes and put back in its proper location.

As a meat packager the different styles, size and cuts of meat had to be separated and put into different boxes and stored in separate bins. Within 3 months of working at IBP I was asked by the line foreman to man the tipping machine. The tipping machine is where the meat is put into the bag and sealed before it gets to the scale to be weighed to be sent on to the packaging area. Within that 3 month time frame I was also asked to come in early and help with line set-up prior to the start of the shift and be the safety representative for the packaging area. There were no re-portable accidents while I worked in the packaging area.
