Started as post-doctoral fellow and rose to supervise the department of CNS pharmacology, including the biochemistry/ molecular biology and in vivo behavioral sections with a total staff of up to 18 scientists. Primary responsibility was to coordinate and direct the operations of the CNS preclinical drug discovery effort for SPRI. Scientific focus was the biochemical pharmacology of G-linked receptors in the CNS. Research targets included Alzheimer’s Disease, migraine, schizophrenia, and obesity. Extensively involved in the CNS Licensing Team and CNS Therapy Team (involved in clinical development and early marketing efforts to support early development candidates and an in-licensed anti-epileptic drug, felbamate). Active in both the initiation and implementation of collaborative research efforts with outside research organizations targeting Alzheimer's Disease, neuronal trauma and schizophrenia.
