About Robert Mcwhirter
I started my early career in retail and telecommunications sales. I moved into insurance in 2012. Started in claims with lodgements and single vehicle claims, then into property claims in the commercial space. My career moved to Westpac in 2014 with General Insurance as a Claims Consultant. Progressed to a Senior Claims role that including Assistant Managerial duties. Quality Assurance and Coaching role became available within Westpac GI which I enjoyed for nearly 2 years and then progressed as the Technical Claims Trainer performing on-boarding, induction and support for incoming groups of up to 25 people.My insurance career has now taken me into the Strata Insurance space. My current role as a Senior Claims Specialist has encompassed end-to-end portfolio claims management, assistance with leadership duties and managing recovery processes. I have also recently completed a Mental Health First-Aid course which I would highly recommend to anyone who is interested.
