I am a 21 year veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, as a Machinery Technician. I have obtained various skills and certificates relevant to the marine maintenance industry and hold an EPA Universal Refrigerant Technician license. With a vast experience on all types of propulsion equipment from dynamic 18 cylinder Alco diesels to 225 Honda outboards and all associated auxiliary and electronic equipment, hydraulic systems, heating & air condition and refrigeration systems. Besides having a extensive mechanical background I also have experience working with, building, directing and organizing a team. I am an energetic and active workplace trainer. And a goal oriented, focused leader who has had multiple successes. I have background working and leading people. I have managed teams of up to 20 people, fostering team building, conducting employee reviews and counseling, while delivering feedback. I also managed work life issues, civil rights issues, career coaching and mentoring.I possess a ten year secret security clearance. Mechanics by trade however I have also managed programs that included safety coordination,safety and environmental healthhazardous waste management, stowage and disposal and fleet vehicle management.Past mechanical experience:-Install and perform alignment on mechanical drive systems.-Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using logical and systematic methodologies.-Adjust equipment to bring it into operational specifications.-Maintain machinery lubrication requirements.-Recommend process or procedure changes based on observed equipment behavior.-Test of electrical and mechanical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, using testing devices such as ohmmeters/voltmeters for proper operation and safety of systems.-Install, examine, replace and repair electrical wiring, receptacle, switch boxes and the electrical components.-Maintain current and accurate maintenance data to determine established historical records of operational machinery and future maintenance requirements from documented mechanical failures.
