How do I do what I do?I've been fortunate to work with a great firm which has taught me a lot. And continues to teach me new things every day.I work with many different clients. On many different types of engagement. I learn new things every day.What do I do?My role:I am an Assistant Manager. I help manage engagements and colleagues. I work directly on engagements as an SME.Third party risk:Providing assurance on outsourced functions. Such as:• The UK’s largest cheque processer.• One of the world’s largest telecoms companies.In particular outsourced payment processing for:• The operator of the UK’s payments infrastructure.• The UK’s passport and visa system.Internal Audit:Providing assurance based on the needs of the client. Such as:• The UK’s state-owned savings bank • One of the UK’s largest brokers.External Audit:Audit of IT. The clients IT systems and associated risks.Audit with IT. Using data analytics to increase: efficiency, quality and the reputation of the firm.On clients such as:• 10 of the UK’s top 50 Building Societies.• Subsidiaries of one of the world’s largest banks.What else do I do?Lead auditor for one of the world’s top card brands. Card bureaus across the UK and Europe.I train auditors on IT in the Audit. The audience ranges up to senior managers. And a crowd up to 25. Over a two day course.I help run my departments Social Club. Developing our internal networks. And having fun.I completed my CIMA qualification in 2016 to become a CGMA.I help develop colleagues. By being an ambassador for the firm’s soft skills initiative. What did I do?I have a 2:1 BSci in Interdisciplinary Science at Leicester University (2007-2011). My dissertation was on X-Ray Diffraction.I spent my three summers at Uni working abroad in the US and NZ.
