He also is author or editor of several books, primers, and educational handbooks on climate science, water resources, and other topics (see examples below).Prior to commencing his position in 1995 at the Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy at the University of Arizona, Merideth was employed at Penn State University (1990–95) and at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1984–89).He also was director of constituent relations for Wisconsin Governor Anthony Earl (1983–84). He is a former Peace Corps volunteer, having served in El Salvador (1978–79). He enjoys birding, hiking, photography, and travel. He has lived in five countries and in 14 U.S. states.
