The Technical Committee provides an informed source of technical knowledge and equipment advice on safety related mountaineering equipment and its use. It undertakes technical investigation and reporting of incidents involving equipment submitted by individuals, organisations or retailers.

I act as an advisor on the National Technical Rescue Directorate supporting teams to facilitate best practice in water search and rescue and steep/vertical ground search and rescue.

As one of the trainers I am responsible for facilitating a wide variety of training courses from first aid and PPE inspection to work at height safety, rescue from height, confined space safety and confined space rescue. I also attend sites to give equipment advice and advise on rescue procedures.

Responsible for managing the training team and chairing operations meetings, as well as organising training and development for all on-call members with skill sets ranging from novice members up to Swift Water Technicians, Flood Rescue Responders, Rope Rescue Operators and other specialist disciplines. My role requires me to ensure that standards are met and competencies are current, enabling swift and decisive actions to be made within a dynamic emergency environment by competent and experienced personnel.Other duties include writing Standard Operating Procedures, Safe systems of work and organisational policies as well as sitting on a National Search and Rescue Training Committee.

Facilitated multi activity training weeks. Leading activities such as team building, rock climbing, abseiling, scrambling, navigation, high ropes assault course, canoeing, hill walking etc.I was delivering this training to: UK Ministry of Defence, civilian organisation's and private clients.
