The Outer Haven Foundation is a youth drug prevention organization whose mission is to help save young people's lives through education and programs that create an awareness of the dangers associated with using drugs. We believe America’s youth have to be made aware of the most dangerous problem facing them. Today that problem is fentanyl. Our community program operates on five core features; prevention, detection, diversion, reinforcement, and mental health. The goal is to create an environment that pushes children to succeed, while also having a strong support structure in place for the ones that struggle. To further combat illicit substance use, we have started our sobriety pledge program. A parent may sign their child up for our sobriety pledge program where the child must agree to live a sober life and to receive random drug testing for the duration of the pledge. In return, the child will have access to our scholarship program and our membership card program. The scholarship program uses a milestone progression system that increases their scholarship amount with the amount of time they spend on the pledge. The membership card program is meant to serve as a way to incentivize all young people by partnering with local businesses to provide incentives for the members. A free happy meal, a discount on sports equipment, or a once-a-month homework pass; anything that a young person might want as a reward for staying sober.The Outer Haven Foundation is also working with the Fentanyl Awareness Coalition to address the current Fentanyl Crisis in all its forms.

My job included setting up relationships with state and federal agencies, managing relationships with distributors, and pushing our product into pilot/test programs with federal agencies. The company had not sold this equipment federally before so the role leaned more towards business development than sales.

Salisbury, Maryland

I worked with the marketing team on tasks ranging from data entry to website development. I gained proficiency using tools such as Excel, Adobe Photoshop, WordPress, and Contract Works.The website development was where I spent the majority of my time. Federal Resources had just acquired Wright Tool Company and decided to revamp their website. Another employee and I worked to move product listings and photos from the GSA Schedule over to their new website. I also spent time integrating a dedicated shop page for each of the products.
