I am an entrepreneur specializing in the world of digital imaging for microscopy. I own an independent microscope dealership and for 40 years have been a successful salesman, systems integrator, and marketing executive.My first real invention was Para-Ban, the "World's Finest Paraffin Repellent" ​for keeping paraffin from sticking to microtomes. Now it is sold by three companies under different names. OptiPath was my first software product for DNA Ploidy analysis. I am credited with introducing low power digital slide scanning 20+ years ago with my patented PathScan Enabler (now 5th generation). I developed Extended Depth of Field (EDF) software, now used exclusively by Media Cybernetics and ultimately created In-Focus Automation. I invented an "On Axis Objective Holder"​ for stereo microscopes to axially align objectives to eliminate image shift. I created the Prelude light source for macro photography. It was designed to illuminate small objects like no other. Now in its second improved iteration. With my "​In-Focus Automation" I was the first to combine the benefits of a motorized stereomicroscope, on axis holder, camera, lighting and imaging software to provide automated EDF photography. Two years ago I developed the Realtime Telepathology Imaging System (RTIS) to simplify sharing high definition pathology images in real time over the internet. I have extensive expertise in digital imaging and photography for microscopy. I am well versed in computer hardware and software integration. I market a variety of digital slide scanners for pathology now and have received many 'Dealer of the Year'​ awards for a many different productsAs a systems integrator, I am capable of connecting ordinary products in ways that create unique applications. I strive to invent new products that will help people overcome difficult tasks worldwide. Much of my drive comes from finding new applications before anyone else and solving complicated problems with simple solutions.
