About Robert Meyers

I have served as global co-leader of Sidley’s capital markets practice from 2010-2023 and the managing partner of the Sydney office from 2007-2020. My practice has emphasized the representation of Australian, New Zealand and U.S. companies and investment banks in connection with U.S and international capital raisings and stock exchange listings (including on the New York Stock Exchange, Nasdaq, the Australian Securities Exchange and the New Zealand Stock Exchange), as well as cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments and leveraged finance transactions. My capital markets practice has primarily encompassed equity and debt securities offerings, including U.S. initial public offerings, private placements of equity securities pursuant to Rule 144A, Section 4(a)(2) and Regulation S, SEC registered and Rule 144A/Regulation S debt offerings, and U.S./Euro MTN and USCP programs, among other things. After graduating from law school and clerking for a federal judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York, I commenced work as a litigation lawyer at Skadden in New York and then Sydney, primarily handling securities litigation matters for seven years.
