With more than 10 years working in the behavioral health field, I have a wide range of experience working with direct care delivery in a recovery program setting as well as an intimate knowledge of the administrative duties that are required to consistently execute daily healthcare business. From 2011 until early 2015, I managed the Utilization Review Department at Wilmington Treatment Center, being responsible for securing the authorization needs for a volume of cases that has grown from just over 100 to over 200 cases in the recent years - for Inpatient Detox, Inpatient Rehab, Residential, Partial Hospitalization, and Intensive Outpatient Levels of Care. During my tenure as Director of Utilization Review, I have been responsible for the recruitment and management the Utilization Review staff, the successful supervision of absorbing the Utilization Review duties of all Wilmington IOP cases for 2 IOP locations and the entire New Life Lodge facility caseload, and implementation of treatment team systems that increased the average length of stay. In addition to these duties, I have also served as a member of the facility’s Senior Leadership Team, collaborating on various ideas for service improvement and new business development. I have experience working closely with facilities’ Executive Directors, Department Managers, the Corporate Regional Admissions Director, Controller and Director of Care Management. I am very passionate about the work of reaching people in need and assisting them in whatever way possible to obtain the services they require. I have cultivated relationships with 3rd party payers and have a thorough understanding of maximizing length of stay while abiding by managed care guidelines for medical necessity. I highly value the importance of excellent customer service and how it nurtures all business relationships and understand the importance of census management and reaching facilities goals in all metrics.
