Supervised between four and ten other members of the IT team and acted as a technical consultant to other departments that required advice on purchasing or implementing new IT Systems.Acted as both technical lead and project manager for all server, storage and infrastructure projects within the college.Managed long-term strategic goals for IT server infrastructure and provided advice to college directors on IT aspects of all college projects.Deployed Office 365 to all staff and students as part of a project to improve staff and student access to resources on mobile devices.Manage a HP ProCurve-based switch infrastructure consisting of about 45 switches, using both command-line tools and ProCurve Manager Plus.Deployed SAN infrastructure based on Dell EqualLogic SANs for college virtualisation projects and to reduce cost of storage on file servers.Handled relationships with key suppliers (e.g. Dell, HP, and Microsoft), including writing specifications for formal equipment bids to comply with legal framework requirements.Migrated the college client PCs from Windows XP and Windows 2003 servers to Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 Server. I ran this project for the college bringing it in on time for the start of the 2012/2013 academic year and for £15,000, vs a quote of £90,000 received from a 3rd party to carry out the migration.Carried out a migration from VMware vSphere to HyperV / SCVMM, and an upgrade of Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013.
