Responsible for managing approx. £1,500,000 of server and network infrastructure assets to support a 7500-user network. My main duties included managing the server and infrastructure requirements to support a 3000 user computer network, and deputising for the Technical Systems Manager. Worked as part of a team providing support for approx. 2000 users on a college network.Migrated the college network from Windows NT4 server and Exchange 5.5 to Windows 2000 & Exchange 2000.Designed the college’s active directory forest structure.Managed security and technical aspects of the college’s internet presence and liaising with key suppliers in this area, e.g. JANET.

Helped migrate the college network from Windows 95 and Netware 4 to Windows NT 4 server and Windows 98 workstations.Installed Exchange 5.5 on college network, and migrated all staff and students over from a legacy email system.Provided ‘2nd line’ support with difficult support calls and providing coaching to junior technicians on other support calls.Assisted engineers and manager with managing server and switch infrastructure.

Main duties centred on supporting staff in two offices, installing, configuring and maintaining user workstations and Windows NT 4 servers, supporting Exchange 5.5 for internal and external email and ensuring the smooth running of the company links between offices.

At Cranfield University I worked on a range of installation, configuration and maintenance tasks to support lecturers and students at the Silsoe campus.This was over a mix of platforms including Windows (95 desktop and NT 3.51/4 server), Digital VMS and various versions of Unix.
