Supporting HW Eng, SW Eng, QA, and MFG through entire product development cycle until RTM.

I will be starting at AJA Video Systems on Monday. They have a large HW design group with many products being designed. Very excited to learn AJA's products and help the team. I am so grateful that I will be able to work near my home.

Over the past 2.5 years, working 60+ hour weeks, I’ve provided right hand man support for principal design engineer, Dr. Bob Uvacek, PhD EE, Dir. Systems Engineering, in helping design and release to manufacturing a portable 64-channel medical ultrasound beam-forming development system based on Samplify’s 16-channel, 12-bit, 65 MSPS 44 mW per channel analog-to-digital converter (ADC) including :1) SMM9132/33 Ultrasound Analog Front End Receiver Module: http://www.samplify.com/products/system-board-products/ultrasound-afe-receiver-module-smm913x/2) SMK9130 Complete Ultrasound Beamforming Front-End System and Development Kit http://www.samplify.com/products/system-board-products/ultrasound-beamforming-development-kit/Accomplishments: planned and put into place a part numbering system, set up a parts inventory database and parts storage system, set up and established a CAD library using Cadence’s Orcad Capture software , co-designed multiple rail, high-voltage embedded ultrasound power supply (PS) board , first and second generation ultrasound receive (RX) and transmit (TX) boards. Generated usable BOM’s for our assembly house, purchased and kitted for all boards, researched and selected new components for design optimization, CAD symbol and part number generation for every design, fine pitch rework, board bring up, functional testing, designing and building many different custom cables, numerous board work-around solutions, noise reduction / signal integrity solutions, managing and tracking ECOs across all prototype and production systems, researching and purchasing of HW development lab equipment, maintaining equipment calibration schedules, writing / processing purchase orders, . General TLC support of HW and SW and ASIC engineering development teams.

Primary responsibilities included initial prototype board bring-up, failure analysis of non-working boards, Mentor Graphics’ DxDesigner (CAD) symbol creation for board designers' schematics, BOM generation, project management using Oracle's Agile CM / PLM software. ECO/MCO generation, CCB signoff, ROHS compliance implementation of entire parts library, ultra fine pitch rework on boards.

Same as above except no CAD librarian responsibilities.

Lead technician in smartphone development group. Assisted HW designers in all aspects of board development from concept to RTM. Involved in HW QA testing of PDA product. Maximized prototype yields due to high quality failure analysis and repair of limited quantity proto builds. Assisted EMI engineer with compliance testing. Wrote testing and failure analysis procedures for our board assembly house.

At Go Corporation, I was responsible for board bring up, failure analysis, board repair, and system configuration of the PDA motherboards we designed for the development of "Penpoint", our handwriting recognition software. I was involved in every aspect of product development from board conception and industrial design to running QA test scripts to environmental and EMI testing.

Domestic Automation designed and built and retrofitted electronic time of use (TOU) power meters onto existing analog power meters for public utilities. These SM-101 (single phase) and SM-301 (poly phase) were the very first TOU digital SMART meters on the market.My responsibilities started in the development lab working with the engineers designing and testing the prototype meters. After we refined the design to be 99.9% accurate in it's rotation counts, I was promoted to Operations Supervisor. We leased a warehouse building in Union City and I planned and set it up as our new production facility.Calibrated single phase (120V Class 100) and poly phase (240V Class 200) and (480V Class 400) meters. Shipping/receiving, operated forklift when needed.Trained, hired and reviewed staff and ramped up to 2 shifts.Customers included PG & E, SoCal Edison, PEPCO, among others.

Dysan / Xidex manufactured rigid disks used in all hard drives (HDD). Customers included Seagate and Western Digital .I worked in the 5.25" division and was trained by the design engineers to be the line certifier specialist / trainer.My responsibilities in a clean room environment with full suits and masks, were to train operators and techs as well as maintain the entire burnisher and certifier production floor. Included keeping all the robotic systems and handlers and I/O disk cassettes running.Trained other technicians on replacing crashed R/W heads and recalibration using oscilloscope and alignment disk, replacing worn / damaged drive shaft bearings, spindle motors, burnisher heads, relays, stepper motors, optical sensor tuning, documenting all repairs and preventive maintenance. Reported back to design engineers any unusual certifier behaviors.
