Diesel Technician
Conduct thorough preventative maintenance (PM) on Penske or customer-owned commercial trucks and trailers to ensure D.O.T. compliance.Perform comprehensive inspections and maintenance of truck exteriors and interiors, including fuel lines, electrical lines, drivetrains, and other vital components.Inspect and measure tire tread, replacing tires as necessary to match tread depth and ensure proper balance.Conduct fluid checks and changes, including engine oil, transmission fluid, differential oil, and fuel/water separator replacements.Torque wheel lugs and U-bolts, and perform other mechanical checks to maintain vehicle safety and performance.Utilize an auto-prompted voice assistant to follow job protocols, receive commands, and maintain guided workflow without the need for paper instructions.Enter job details and follow-up repair needs into a computer system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date job tracking and paperwork.Perform both PMs and minor repairs, with the potential to undertake more advanced tasks as experience and trust from supervisors increase.Attend and participate in ongoing educational classes on various topics, including electrical circuits, transmissions, specific engine brands, and more.Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including cleaning tools and shop areas to prevent oil spills and ensure a safe working environment.Key Achievements:Gained valuable knowledge in electrical schematics and fault diagnosis through participation in electrical classes.Successfully completed a variety of PM and repair tasks, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of fleet operations.Developed proficiency in the use of the company's interactive computer system for job management and vehicle diagnostics.
