Testing And Innovation Center - Student Worker
Operated as a Student Worker product evaluator at the TEEX Testing and Innovation Center. In this position, I worked both independently and within a group to evaluate cutting-edge technologies designed for the public service sector with a specific focus on extended reality systems and their applications. These evaluations consisted of researching innovative technologies, reading scholarly articles and materials, delivering product demonstrations as a non-biased third party, cataloging the successes and shortcomings of products, and writing comprehensive reports based on the testing outcomes. Significant testing was conducted on the InVeris SURVIVR virtual reality law enforcement training system, exoskeleton movement dynamics, augmented reality triage tagging systems, and research on extended reality software in education. A substantial portion of my role consisted of organizing and delivering demonstrations for various entities such as the Texas Department of Public Safety and representatives for local law enforcement agencies to determine the adaptability of the virtual reality system for their training programs. This position provided me with hands-on experience in evaluating technologies, delivering demonstrations, and writing comprehensive reports based on the testing outcomes for future public service sector implementations.
