At Motorola I worked in the mobile business group to develop the premium and cutting edge tier category products. I worked on the latest generations of smart folding display phones (razr), rollable displays, AI powered displayless user interfaces, touchless controls, antennas, microphones, speakers, flexible printed circuits, and every type of plastic and metal part that might go into a mobile device. At Braven I develop designs for Bluetooth speakers, headphones, earbuds, battery housings, consumer electronics, and mounting accessories from a variety of engineering materials; mostly injection molded plastic and rubber but also die cast, stamped, and CNC metal parts. I am responsible for the full mechanical design of our products including ideation, ergonomic evaluation, prototyping, assembly, tooling approval, waterproofing, mechanical-acoustic considerations, and cable strain relief. I read, analyze, & interpret professional documents, design for manufacture (DFM) reports, technical procedures & material component data sheets. I also conduct sample evaluation and troubleshooting, and mechanical testing. I am responsible communicating with our suppliers and manufacturers in China, including travel to China to resolve manufacturing issues in person.I have successfully completed dozens of products for Braven, usually working on several at the same time. I regularly collaborate with our Industrial Design, Electrical, Acoustic, and Testing departments in order to align all their needs in the mechanical housing. I also frequently make photorealistic renderings of the products to support the marketing and sales teams.

I consulted with Snap Power on two different projects (not public yet) by helping them with mechanical design and also improving their patented electrical contacts to be compatible with a larger array of outlet styles while remaining insulated sufficiently. I also introduced them to a light piping technique for thin flat panel shapes.

At GoEngineer I was responsible for taking customer support calls and emails and answering questions about the software. I frequently had to open customer’s files to help them debug their errors to understand why some features or dependencies were breaking.While working at GoEngineer, I achieved many certifications including “SolidWorks Expert”, one of the highest qualifications available. I became an expert in SolidWorks implementation, training, and license management. I also became skilled with Solidworks add-ons including SolidWorks Simulation. I was consistently able to exceed my quarterly goals which included whitepaper/Standard Operating Procedures and instructional videos. My experience at GoEngineer has made me extremely fast at CAD tasks, which allows more time for evaluation.
