Simmons Energy is one of the largest and most experienced energy investment banking firms in the industry, offering M&A advisory, capital markets execution and investment research. Selected to develop a subsidiary in London from the ground up. Recruited highly qualified talent to staff the new division, and provided the training and support necessary to perform successfully. Worked closely with European institutional investors, including energy and natural resource teams from Blackrock, Capital Group and Investec to provide energy research and analysis. Established strong client relationships with investors in Norway including the Norwegian Sovereign Wealth Fund (Norges Bank). Analyzed customer databases to develop customer leads and build customer base through cold calling and networking. Set up the UK legal entity and ensured the company was in compliance with UK Financial Conduct Authority regulations. Identified and pursued business opportunities in Sydney and Melbourne. Managed the divisional finances, profit and loss to ensure the division remained profitable. Served as a key member of the team responsible for organizing the Energy Institutional Conference at Gleneagles. Key Achievements: Generated $8M in new business revenue annually within the first six years. Delivered 25% of the firm’s securities revenue for 14 consecutive quarters. By providing effective leadership and support, sales team increased sales by 20% annually. Closed $500K in business per year from Australian markets.
