This involved learning a procurement co-ordinator role and working with the team to identify redundant processes and opportunities for improvement. The entire role was mapped, and then in a meeting with the senior team at Tesco a number of areas were either removed or changed. Working in conjunction with another project which had improved the forecasting of the system, we completely automated the orders, meaning co-ordinators and supplier implants could no longer raise manual orders. This change is projected to save a significant amount of working capital as unnecessary stock is no longer bought. I am now looking at making further changes for specialist areas, such as world foods, long lead time wines and Range Change. -
Veg And Salad Supply PlannerTesco Plc Jun 2015 - Jan 2016CheshuntAs a supply planner I was in charge of making sure stock of all veg and salad is fully available to the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. This involves co-ordinating with Suppliers, demand planners and buyers in the countries as well as the UK to make sure that demand in the store could be fully met by suppliers. One of the key trade drivers was on Citrus fruit, some of the highest volume lines in the run up to Christmas in CE. By planning this product for the first time, we managed to start the new season with a promotion, beating all of our other competitors to the market by one week and stopping a series of other planned promotions from competitors.I also used skills developed from my previous jobs at Tesco to develop the reporting, which was hard to understand, and difficult to interpret. By fully designing a new service level report I have provided the CE supply chain team with a tool to help improve the forecasting and ordering process going forward. I have automated this so that it is still possible to run the report with one click, making this sustainable for the future.

This involved the development of training manuals, locating the correct teams and making sure that all of the systems, such as SQL databases were in place so that the team in India could manage this work sustainably.

I also learnt how to work well in a team and I would often try to help out in other areas of the store if my department was quiet. This meant I gained a good knowledge of how the store worked from receiving a delivery to serving the customers at the end of their shop.
