Spud Island Holdings owns and operates three community care/health care companies, creating employment of more than 300 people in a rapidly evolving and growing industry, alongside a property devleopment company that owns, operates and maintains 24 locations throughout the Maritimes. SIH is also a founder and 50% owner of a private school located in Halifax, Nova Scotia.As an experienced CEO, Rob earned his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. He has completed executive leadership courses at Harvard University, West Point Military Academy and the Institute of Corporate Directors Education Program, developed by the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. Rob also earned his CPA, CA while working at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Toronto, Canada and later gained international experience with PwC in Melbourne, Australia.Rob has continuously served his community in various ways, giving time and providing expertise to both charitable and provincial athletic organizations. His experience includes being a member of the Board of Directors for the Izaac Walton Killam Children's Hospital and the Arthritis Society, Nova Scotia. Over the course of two decades, Rob coached in the Ontario Hockey League and was selected to be the Guest Assistant Coach of the Canadian National Team on two separate occasions. He was the Associate Head Coach of the Ontario U-17 Team, representing Ontario at the Canada Winter Games and was awarded Coach of the Year in the Ontario Minor Hockey Association and again, for a second time, in the following year, for the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League. Now actively involved in the Nova Scotia hockey scene, Rob has assisted in the development of many NHL players; he coached the Nova Scotia Provincial U-16 team twice to Atlantic Championships and led the Dartmouth Major Midgets to a provincial title and a silver medal at the Atlantic Championships.
