Temporary/As needed basis position where I consult with buyers and other engineers on how and what type of satellite equipment they need for the best quality and less expense on personnel and maintenance wise according to the lifespan of the equipment and what type as well as how much bandwidth they will need according to their request and procurement of products. I work primarily from my home of residence but seeking any permanent position with a satellite or telecommunication support based company.

Working at the time as a part-time or as needed operator and maintainer for KU & KA bands Deployable KU-band Earth Terminal (DKET) terminals for ISAF Regional Command North, supporting Afghan National Security Forces in close coordination and collaboration in providing security and NIPR and SIPR communications to aid in disrupting insurgent activities in order to protect the population and secure the highways.

Provide the framework for the establishment of global and regional SATCOM support centers and their integration with existing Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) global and regional operations centers to provide a communications “one-stop-shop” for combatant commands and their users. Support Master Reference Terminal (MRT) fixed Regional Hub Node (RHN) in support of multi-terrestrial mobile tactical terminals in the KU and X-band frequency ranges on three 9 meter and five 4.5 meter parabolic antenna systems that allows time division multiple access (TDMA) and frequency division multiple access (FDMA) transmissions on IP Centric linkway modems. This allows joint network nodes (JNN/AN/FSC-133) and command post nodes (CPN) tactical communication platforms to provide vital support for soldiers in the field.

Lead Satellite Engineer, operating, maintaining, and training personnel on tactical Tri/Quad-band (C,X,KU,&KA) Phoenix proto-type TST-1&2 ground mobile tactical satellite terminals. In Support of the USARPAC G-6, C4ISR in conducting experimental training and act as focal point for Upgrades and equipment problems to the manufacture (L3) of the Tri/Quad-band terminal and their Engineers to solve many COTS (Commercial-off-the shelf) related problems and procedures for maximum performance capability. While deployed with the 125th Signal Battalion to Afghanistan, made equipment upgrades on the fly while operating in temperatures far above normal to sustain a flawless uptime rate for 12 months. All equipment modifications were approved by L3 Corp. and implemented in the present Phoenix type tactical terminals.

Alternate Site Chief, responsible for operating and maintaining an AN/GSC-39B Satellite Communication terminal (HT/MT Mod) in support of shuttle and rocket launches from Cape Canaveral, Florida.NOTE: The short duration of employment with CSC was not intentional or due to termination. My position with CSC was to take over as site manager for the satellite facility from a long time friend and previous Satcomer in the Air Force together and fully intended to stay for the long haul. After only 3 months on station, was contacted by Engineering Solutions and Products (ESP) and offered a position to join them that I couldn't refuse. Just wanted to imply that comment to clarify any confusion.

Division Multiple Access Comm. Sys.) AN/USC-38 (EHF Satellite Comm. Terminal) AN/FSC-97 (Single Channel Transponder Injection System, SCTIS) DSCS FDMA Control System (DFCS).Teleport,Midas, and SHF Surtass Timeplex Link 2/ST-1000. This equipment is housed in one main facility in Hawaii and is the primary hub interface for the Fleet Navy and all encrypted military forces to provide a Gateway Step Site and GMF (ground mobile forces) interface for Defense Information Systems Agency, Pacific Theater (DISA-PAC). This command manages the Pacific portion of the Global Information Grid; selected command, control, communications, and computer (C-4) systems in support of the Pacific's Commanders, subordinate commands, military components, joint task forces, and other federal agencies.

Sr. Shift Lead, responsible for operating and maintaining an AN/FSC-78B/C fixed heavy satellite communication terminal with DFCS Satellite Network Monitoring System (AN/GSC-51),in support of the Army Missile Defense System.My first civilian job after painfully deciding not to continue my Air Force career.

Satellite Communication Technician, operation and maintenance of numerous satellite terminals with 5 years experience as a classroom technical instructor. On hands experience with these satellite terminals:AN/GSC-49 (Spread Spectrum Anti-jam Terminal) andANG/GSC-42 (Command & Control AFSATCOM-UHF) 2 years. AN/TSC-100, 85, 93 & 94 (GMF Terminals) 6 years AN/GSC-52 (State-of-the-Art Medium Fixed) 3 years. Duties Included: Establishing Wideband communication links via the satellite according to satellite schedules and distant end parameters. Conduct monitoring, testing, and aligning to ensure high quality circuits; performing network operations circuit patching, self-verification and loop tests; performing preventive, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance including inspections; evaluating equipment performance using applicable test equipment; fault solving to card and component level using technical manuals and schematic wiring diagrams removing and replacing faulty component using soldering techniques; minor repair of circuit cards, and installation and alignment of space communication systems. Worked directly with numerous system engineers in designing/implementing new circuit architecture for various satellite communication sites. Developed training curriculums for over 40 students per class as an Air Force support instructor. Also, 9 years experience as Shift Supervisor with at least 4 personnel under my supervision at any given time.
