Specifically, we are tasked to prepare at least 30 catalytic ventures with unique solutions to address protracted bottlenecks in Uganda's horticulture sub-sector and trigger transformative change. The HortiMAP project aims to ensure; a) sustainable local supply of fruits & Vegetables by 40,000 producers to 250,000 consumer households b) jobs for 16,000 youth & women along the value chain c) 3M Euros Investment by local and Dutch firms in horticulture industry & d) competitive performance of Uganda's vegetables in regional markets and distant export markets. -

I facilitated the development of a regulatory framework for vanilla production and trade. I was part of core team that initiated the process for development of national standards for vanilla production, processing and export which led to trade in vanilla products worth over $2M. I also mentored/coached the Cooperatives in the value chain to develop high impact growth models which enabled them achieve 52% growth rate. -

As a result over 4,000 tonnes of assorted organic value chain commodities were produced and traded in an environmentally friendly, women/youth inclusive, conflict sensitive and economically beneficial manner.
