I am currently a student at Epicodus, an intensive 6 month course in computer programming, where I'm learning front and back end development in C# and React. This is a career shift for me, after previously working as a processing laboratory technician at Curaleaf. Previously, I worked in a variety of healthcare settings, including as a medical scribe, where worked alongside emergency department physicians to document their diagnostic and treatment decisions in real time. I am excited to be entering the field of software development because I enjoy the intersection of the logical analytic and the creative, and I like to tinker with making new things. With a background in medical contexts, especially as a medical scribe, I observed the probability and risk-analytical decision making process that characterizes the approach known as evidence based medicine. While I did not ultimately go on to pursue being a physician, I bring with me an appreciation for the process of tracking data and outcomes to guide the decision making process.
