Devine operates in Queensland, Victoria and South Australia with 4 divisions – Land, Integrated Housing, Apartments and Construction. I was part of the team that looked after the Queensland Land and Integrated Housing which had annual revenue of $115m. The team consisted of a Finance Manager, Financial Accountant and myself (Management Accountant). Worked as the mine site accountant for the South Walker Creek Mine spending two weeks a month onsite and the remainder of the time in Brisbane. My core responsibilities were to perform month end reporting tasks, including, accruals, allocations, other journals, month end review, month end reporting, prepare month end forecast, budget preparation, loading and support, budget book preparation, cost reviews and associated actions where required and accounting support.

Monthly management accounts and reporting, forecast and variance analysis, billings and income forecasting, control of the treasury, ensuring payments were made correctly and on time and client profitability analysis.

I supervised a small team who prepared the annual budget and quarterly forecast, monthly and year end financial accounts and quarterly value added tax (VAT) returns. I managed capital expenditure and the fixed asset register, payroll and the expatriate payroll, credit control, intercompany loan accounts and billing.

When Harrison Troughton Wunderman, Wunderman Impact and Wunderman Automotive merged to become Wunderman UK I was responsible for merging the accounts and payrolls (approx 750 people) into one. I also created a compensation forecasting model for this new payroll.

For both Zenithoptimedia UK Ltd and Starcom Worldwide Ltd I compiled full sets of Sarbanes Oxley compliant process narratives, assessed all departments for Sarbanes & Oxley compliance, created action plans and worked with all departments to ensure Sarbanes & Oxley compliance, assisted with the internal Sarbanes & Oxley audit of other Publicis Agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi, ResourcesUk and assisted both Agencies with the external KPMG and Earnest & Young audits.

I completed my five year training contract as mandated by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA). I started as a traineed auditor and finished as an audit senior.
