I take the lead on managing and controlling all aspects of the site’s financial affairs, reporting directly to the Regional Finance Leader and Head of Business, providing departmental managers with an accurate and informative service. Managing a team of 5 in the Finance and Administration department, responsibilities cover a wide range such as: • Preparing and maintaining monthly accounts to audit level• Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliation• Profit and loss verification to ensure integrity• End of year returns and quarterly VAT returns• Ensuring Sales Executives are FCA compliant• Weekly profit forecasting and variance analysis• Maximising cash flow and return on capital• Monthly gross pay submission• Maintain cost saving log; identifying and driving areas of additional saving• Dealership contract management

Reporting to the Regional Group Financial Controller, I was responsible for Ford Yorkshire covering 4 Locations and a Commercial/Fleet Operation. Benfield Motors were acquired by Lookers PLC in September 2015.I held overall responsibility for overseeing accounts and balance sheet for all branches within the area including review of banking, purchase ledger and sales ledger. Providing input into wide ranging operational reviews, I managed a team of 5 Accountants and an Assistant. Key tasks included: • Managing cashflow and working capital, responsible for the Central Location Balance sheet and closure of Vehicle Stock Book, Purchase, Sales and Nominal Ledgers.• Intercompany reconciliation• Reconciliation of divisional control accounts and submission of manufacturer composite. • Quarterly VAT returns • Management of all vehicle stocks to maximise dealer profitability; maintaining brand standards. • Financial and Statistical reporting using company’s “Benfo” System• Deal file review and branch audits
