Designed and built infrastructure for digital pathology in AWS as well as on-prem. Worked with Ansible, Dell OpenManage, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, Helm, Gitlab CI. Provided design assistance for application teams, as well as infrastructure support, including building deployment pipelines and designing monitoring and alerting strategy.

Led the Site Operations team, responsible for performance, monitoring and scalability of entire site. Led projects to modernize infrastructure, improve agility, and enhance release reliability, including:- Replaced email alerting and homegrown reports with Prometheus, Graphite and Grafana.- Replaced static configuration with service discovery for bare metal services.- Moved provisioning from bash scripts to ansible and RPMs- Migrated log shipping from cron jobs and rsync to Kafka and Java consumers.

- Led project to create Instant Book, a system for allowing booking of hotel rooms on the TripAdvisor website using APIs from Online Travel Agencies.- Led project to convert search and typeahead from a Lucene based solution to Elastic Search.- Rearchitected the user review service, which was responsible for delivering reviews across the entire site. Achieved an 80% reduction in startup time and a 90% reduction in heap usage. - Rebuilt TripAdvisor forum pages, including creating a new forum service.

- Full stack development creating features on hotel pages, including redesign, optimization, and performance projects.- Led project to create a restaurant review application within Facebook.- Built integrations with external websites. Involved designing APIs, ensuring SLA compliance, creating custom deployment processes, and monitoring tools.- Infrastructure projects around error tracking, reporting, testing.

- Primary developer of ttAlert, a monitoring platform for creating monitoring solutions for our FIX engine.- Developer for ttConnect, a FIX engine. Worked on C++ client for ttConnect as well as the CMS protocol plugin.- Developer for ttCert, a testing tool for FIX engines that enabled trading firms to ensure successful connectivity with other firms.

- Lead developer of Manage, the Ad campaign management and reporting tool, a large multi-threaded C++ application which provided a web interface for customers to upload, target, and report on ads.- Designed and developed System Health Monitor, a monitoring tool for detecting problems with ad trafficking and reporting systems.- Responsible for maintaining and improving various reporting applications used for customer billing. Involved addressing scaling issues, tracking down discrepancies and improving reliability.
