ASIC mandated that financial services companies implement DDO (Design and Distribution Obligations) – ensuring that products are sold only into defined markets. I was hired as the lead architect, but almost immediately given a different job of leading a team to define the end-state for products which was a business consulting role delivering to the executive sponsor. I then continued as lead architect for other projects, creating architectures, technology roadmaps and solving legacy data problems. This work also involved numerous appearances at various architecture review boards, all of which were successful first time. Worked across a variety of banking business areas, designed ID sharing solution and a new partner-bank architecture. Contract extended five times to 3.5 years, beyond 2 year usual maximum. The Bureau initiated a large-scale security and resilience programme known as Robust. I was initially hired on 3-month contract as an infrastructure architect to create the first business case, but that contract was continually extended as I took on or was given a variety of different roles as the programme moved from initial to delivery:• Technical lead work on three major business cases covering the three tranches of Robust (2016 to 2020) – set up estimating/modelling system, solution definition, architecture team leading/organisation, business case writing.• Technical consultant to the Outputs & Charging review which defined the Bureau’s products and services.• Planned and set up initial procurement model for the project.• Set up architecture practice processes, standards, models and operations.• Defined future-state technology operating model.• Set up initial PMO, including HR hiring methods and processes.• Initial programme manager for Tranche 1.• Established architecture practice (methods, standards, templates)• Defined end-to-end architecture model.• Program manager for the application remediation stream – team of 15.• Developed CSOC outsourced RFT; strategy, requirements, plan and principles.

Responsible for; IT architecture from enterprise to solution; identifying and initiating IT projects, and ongoing governance. Also became the IT security manager and change manager. Created business case and plan for several major projects including contact centre replacement, major legacy upgrades, desktop refresh, WAN/Tel replacement and infrastructure upgrades. Led major security improvements including outsourced monitoring, policies and staff education. Acted as advisor to major clients during vendor selection processes. Acted for CIO during absence.

Completed numerous and diverse technology consulting engagements including outsourcing design, systems/vendor selection, content/document management strategies, IT strategies, technical career frameworks and due-diligences. Held several roles that involved ad-hoc ongoing advice to CxOs. Assisted with startup of PwC Digital. Initiated and maintained internal development training projects for staff as well as social events. Extensively involved in recruitment.
