Independently manages approximately 39 sites per year for the cleanup of petroleum contamination at service station, commercial, industrial and bulk storage facilities. Communicates, and resolves conflicts, with property owners, responsible parties, contractors, consultants, and other State agencies. Reviews submitted reports and cleanup progress with staff engineers and geologists to determine immediate scope of work and long term remedial strategy. Working on Jack-up and Semi-submersible drilling rigs offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. Job duties include equipment rig up; connecting various sensors throughout the drilling platform, calibrate specialized equipment to provide accurate readings to monitor/log drilling activity, identify technical problems pertaining to equipment or system design failures and implement solutions, troubleshoot equipment or systems problems that develop during normal operations. Utilizing Wellview/Diversified MWD system; observe and interpret the indicators in the mud returns during the drilling process such as drilling rate/rate of penetration (ROP), pump rate (quantity of fluid being pumped), pump pressure, mud weight, mud volume, trip time, weight on drill bit, drill string weight, rotary speed, rotary torque, revolutions per minute (RPM), and strokes per minute (SPM). Monitored natural gas entering the drilling mud stream and notified other personnel on the rig when gas reached a predetermined cautionary level, entered into a dangerous level, and when the gas show had subsided back to a safe level. Collected and analyzed drill cuttings circulated to the surface for the presence of oil, prepared drill cutting samples for laboratory analysis, and emailed daily reports to the oil company operator for review. Provide feedback to the engineering construction and design groups on “lessons learned” pertaining to design flaws in new and existing equipment and systems.
