The Cockatoo Island hematite mine is a direct shipping operation that is being developed to produce high grade iron ore fines. Its high-quality hematite ore averages around 68 percent iron with very low levels of sulphur and phosphorous. The unique operation excavates at 35m below sea level, protected by an artificial sea wall. Reporting to the General Manager, responsibilities and accountabilities are broad and include:► Registered Alternate Operations Manager► Implementation of organisational structure, asset and operational development plans (short, medium and long term)► Responsible for the health and safety all personnel on the remote operation including the mine, processing and accommodation facilities area► Leading the provision, management and maintenance of all Fixed and Mobile producing assets and non-production Infrastructure► Responsible owner of the Licence to Operate and all associated risk management processes ► Day to day management responsibilities for whole of operation. The asset included all Heavy and Light mining vehicles, mining support infrastructure, crushing and conveyor processing facilities, inventory management equipment, export loadout equipment, airport, commercial office assets, medical facilities and accommodation for site based personnel ► Budget forecasting and setting performance indicators for key roles within the operation ► Providing managerial leadership and engineering expertise to execute the refurbishment, commissioning and operation of all major mining assets► Spearheading the development and application of business and operational processes and procedures required to run a remote and unique risk mining operation.

Roy Hill Iron Ore Processing Facility - Pilbara Region, Wa

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, core functional responsibilities include (but are not limited to): ► Consultant support to engineering team for RCA, quantifying production vulnerabilities, poorly performing equipment and bottlenecks in a high capital, regionally remote mineral processing facility► Driving a cultural reshape to stable reliable production via continuous improvement by establishing new processes to capture and assess improvement initiatives for the newly commissioned Roy Hill Ore processing facility ► Instigating best practice planned maintenance processes to instigate a step changes in quality of production forecasting, reliability and operability.

Reporting to the Asset Manager of FPSO Fleet, providing specialist services in subsea/floating structure interface, turret and reconnection systems, core functional responsibilities included (but were not limited to): ► Immediate intervention and advanced management of people, processes and operations for emerging “Major Consequence” (and above) risks to the facility or business, and was assigned sensitive regulatory, safety, productivity or environmental risks, beyond the capacity or capabilities of the companies “Central Engineering Function”► Environment was one of high performance and high urgency requiring advanced interfacing, negotiation, engineering, coordination and multi-disciple engineering to resolve unbudgeted, unplanned issues► Team outcomes consistently achieved top quartile performance in safety, operations and maintenance life cycle costing, environmental impact, reputation and branding, as well as social and/or industrial development.⇨ Mitigated a potential loss of 18 months production for an offshore facility (US$180MM) and US$4.5MM on unbudgeted repair costs by self-managing the rectification of a subsea Electrical Swivel, with the saving enabling the central engineering function to meet internal cost saving initiatives, and earned a session of acclaim from the SVP of Operations - project management techniques I employed to enable success included maintaining concurrent and high intensity work fronts, fast tracking simultaneous solutions and competitive procurement opportunities⇨ Mitigated a SEVERE consequence incident and avoided a potential 4 month facility operational outage (US$60MM) through effective project planning and fast tracking 2 independent execution concepts (Safety Case double-round submissions), and the offshore 5.5" reconnect wire (Safety Critical Equipment) was replaced while the FPSO production facility remained on-station.

Reporting to the Business Unit and Brownfields Director, with additional functional responsibility as Acting Engineering Manager for a team 32 FTE’s (full time equivalents), key achievements included: ► Okha FPSO: Nominated for 2014 Woodside Awards in multiple categories including Leadership and Capability, Sustainability and Health and Safety - recognitions were for leading intensive and novel end to end process assessment for Material Low Temperature Exposure risks as a result of fundamental engineering design flaws► Okha FPSO: Maintained federal and state License to Operate under intense Regulator scrutiny by leading the close-out of 160 brownfield project rectification scopes, with a focus on alignment to project design intent and regulatory engagement as key enablers to success► Vincent FPSO: Mitigated an immanent risk of the revoking of the facility’s License to Operate by championing the rectification of 19 critical Lloyd’s (Class) and Australian Maritime Safety Authority (Class) defects on safety critical elements for Safety Authority (Class) defects, thereby mitigating an immanent risk of the License being revoked.

Reporting to the General Engineering Manager with functional responsibility for the major maintenance activities of critical production and utilities equipment, and with an annual OPEX budget of AU$115MM, key achievements included:► Area Engineer responsible for maintenance and rectification of hydrogen sulphide, sulphuric acid, power generation and water treatment systems► Lead Mechanical Maintenance Planner for 5 the yearly statutory inspection shutdown of the facility► Led 4 major gas turbine overhauls including A, D and E level overhauls on Gas Turbine 10B► Managed 2 x 50K hour major overhauls of 28MW steam turbines.
