As a former practicing certified public accountant, I enjoy advising accounting firms on matters concerning tax work paper, Kovel and other privilege matters, Circular 230 issues and other matters concerning practicing before the IRS. Along with partners in our White Collar Crime and Corporate Compliance Group, I also represents taxpayers under criminal investigation regarding tax-sensitive activities, along with persons who are non-filers and/or want to take advantage of federal and state voluntary disclosure programs.I implement customized tax, succession planning and estate planning strategies to enable business owners and other wealthy individuals achieve their long-term planning goals.I was among the first attorneys to use limited liability companies (LLCs) and have lectured extensively throughout the United States and abroad on topics relating to their use.Specialties: Attorneys practicing in Illinois are not allowed to use "specialty" designations.
