Including Response to Intervention (Year 6 of implementation), Professional Learning Communities (Year 4 of implementation) with focus on mastery of essential standards, extensive instructional coaching and professional development by administration & Sacramento County Office of Education, systemic informal observation of teaching staff to reinforce and refine instruction, and the establishment and strengthening of parent & community relations. Park Avenue Elementary attendance consistently exceeds 95%. A wide variety of student supports are in place including a school counselor, parent/family liaison, instructional aides, an intervention teacher, instructional coach, physical education teacher, parent volunteers, Mini-Corp tutors and more. Academic achievement and the building of strong foundational skills for student success in middle and high school is a top priority.
