My time at Allure was spent on three major projects, all employing Java-based development. I was part of an agile development team in my most recent project. I participated in the design, development and maintenance of theater point of sale development product, mostly for Regal Cinemas. The product consisted of a cashier terminal application, a theater back office management application, and a circuit-wide home office application. These applications were developed in Java utilizing Spring and Swing for various components. TTD, using JUnit, and pair programming techniques were used on a daily basis during design and implementation. Acceptance tests were developed for the whole suite of applications using the Ruby scripting language.During my time at Allure I also designed and developed web-based applications. I was lead developer on the Group Sales web application. Group Sales was used by Regal theater employees to reserve large group ticket orders. This application was developed using Java, Struts and HTML/JSP.The second application was designed to allow management of digital media menu and advertisement systems. The application allowed users to configure digital templates, assign media to the templates and then distribute them to remote sites. This application was originally started in Groovy using the Grails framework. After discovering some of the refactoring and maintenance limitations of Grails in large scale projects, the application was converted to Java, using Struts 2. My main responsibility was the development of the web pages and controllers, using Java, JSP and YUI for rich featured AJAX controls.

I co-developed web-based applications using Java and Struts for Equifax clients to filter groups of prospective customers by the credit report criteria in order the send them offers of credit.

While at Imperitek, I was part of a team that developed a web-based application to issue SSL certificates using Java. I also participated in the design and development of an application to manage large scale business mergers. This application was developed in Java utilizing the

The main projects I worked on at iFleet were in support of the CarCop in-vehicle security device. I was part of a team that designed and implemented a multi-tier call center monitoring application to monitor the CarCop devices in the field. In particular, I was responsible for the monitoring application which presented real-time data to the operator as it was received from an in-vehicle unit. The monitor allowed the operator to listen into the vehicle cabin via the cellphone installed in the CarCop device, and to control various systems in the vehicle such as the door locks, ignition and anti-theft alarm. The data from the in-vehicle unit included GPS data which the monitor then plotted in real time on a map created from US TIGER data. Later I helped develop a web-based monitor for CarCop using Java. The CarCop monitor was developed in C++ for Windows using MFC.I was the lead designer on a portal application allowed towing companies to monitor iFleet's call center performance. The portal was developed using Java, Struts and JSP.I also co-developed a document template generator using Delphi. Specifically, the document generator was used by James River salesmen to quickly create custom sales presentation documents for current and prospective customers, but it was designed for generic document applications.

I was responsible for development and maintenance of the NetTOOLS, a suite of applications used to centralized management of the Windows 3.x desktop across a LAN. Development of NetTOOLS was done in C/C++. In particular, I maintained the desktop security and notification application. In the last release of the NetTOOLs software suite, I helped to redesign the Application Manager, which was a network aware replacement for the Windows 3.X Program Manager. An administrator could use the Application Manager to remotely control access to the applications that users were allowed to use. NetTOOLS was initially written in C using the Windows SDK, but later versions of the Application Manager were developed in C++ with MFC.
