RFIC Design Engineer, Advance Technology Center• RF Designer for fully integrated 3W Transmit and Receive module (TRM) in commercial GaAs pHEMT process for X Band AESA Radar. Developed lab characterization testplan and medium volume RF screening within an automatic test environment. Advocated for second path to be developed as a Multi-Chip Module (MCM) to allow for more agile response to changing requirements with different application spaces as well as to hit a lower unit cost point. Lead design team through design and tapeout for higher RF performance MCM TRM.• RF design in InP and GaN for DARPA DAHI program. One of key layout leads in the integrated process which required co-layout of InP, GaN, and CMOS as well as cross domain LVS, DRC, and electrical simulation.

The majority of my research was on designing Power Amplifiers. My focus was on ultra-wideband, high efficiency power amplifiers in cutting edge GaN processes. A portion of this work was assisting Rockwell Collins with fundamental research support on designs for DARPA’s DAHI project. Through this I created prototypes using discrete transistors and microstrips boards leading to taping out the final design in a GaN MMIC process.To support the design work, I have a background with Large Signal Microwave Measurements. I work with a Large Signal Network Analyzer to check Foundry models or to create our own models if need be. I used a variety of measurement techniques are used to separate the frequency, dynamic, and nonlinear effects from the intrinsic working state of the device that can then be summed back together to create a working model for the desired operating region. This allows our lab to design with cutting edge technologies in which the models are not created yet, or have not been verified to work in our desired operating region.

I was owner/operator of my own entertainment business. I handled all of the aspects of the business from money flow and scheduling, to customer relationships and contracts. I was based out of Northwest Ohio, but traveled all over Ohio for shows. I developed my skills in public speaking and performance through hundreds of hours in front of diverse audiences.

As an intern, I was mainly responsible for the creation and implementation of measurement setups. One of my main projects was to work with a Vector Network Analyzer to test an imaging system in a high loss environment that we created to see what different factors would affect the depth we could image in this environment.
