Using IRMS and ICP-MS techniques, we measured the δ18O (carbonate) and 87Sr/86Sr¬ isotope compositions and the trace element concentrations of a set of 105 modern human teeth from known locations in the Middle East. The data was then modelled (using R and ArcGIS software) against geographical, geological and climatic variables in order to interpolate the values into a GIS based spatial prediction model (Isoscape) for the Middle East.
