Purpose of role: Project leader of four research projects (three dairy calf to beef projects and one suckler systems project). My role is to develop/ modify beef production systems that are profitable for producers and marketable for processors. Key Responsibilities:• Manage a research team consisting of PhD students, technical staff and farm staff across two locations including setting experiment objectives, monitoring outcomes and providing feedback to ensure results are delivered• Produce results from various experiments and research trials, including diagnosis, analysis and collation of data and converting data into insights. • Collaborated with various industry partners including ICBF, Dawn Meats, ABP Food Group, Certified Irish Angus, Irish Hereford Prime and the Angus, Hereford and Limousin breed societies.• Drive knowledge transfer across the wider industry including leading stakeholder conferences (National Beef Conference 2013) and open days, providing targeted best management advice to beef advisors, specialists and farmers.
