I have over seven years of experience managing and delivering animal production projects in Teagasc. Currently, I’m leading dairy calf to beef research in Teagasc as well as being project leader of the Maternal herd project at Teagasc Grange.I’m passionate about developing/modifying systems of production and assessing the economic outcomes of these alternatives for beef producers. Previously, over a three year period, I completed my PhD thesis on Jersey crossbreeding of the Irish dairy herd at Teagasc Moorepark.My technical expertise includes: dairy and beef breeding strategies, management of production systems, feed efficiency, experimental design, statistical analysis, economic analysis and grassland management.I’ve also developed expertise in: leading and managing projects, communicating and engaging with stakeholders, scientific writing and people management.
