Serve as City liaison to the Traffic Commission.• City’s Liaison to all utility companies (including Southern California Edison, The Gas Company, Pacific Bell, GTE and California Water Company).• “Change Agent” by leading the department to a more proactive approach of performance management.• Assisted the Human Resources Director to manage labor relations and negotiations. Was involved with the meet and confer process and was designated by the City Administrator to deal with various appeals processes (i.e. grievances, union disputes and discrimination complaints).• Served as Liaison and Political Ambassador to the City of Commerce/Aguascalientes Mexico Sister City Association.Responsibilities as the Assistant to the City Administrator included:• Served as the City’s liaison to the community and dealt directly with the general public to handle problems and complaints. Handled and investigated personnel harassment and grievance complaints.• Worked directly with the City Council on public policy issues.• Represented the City at the State Capitol in Sacramento as an advocate on legislative matters concerning redevelopment, land use, transportation, gaming, and public works.• Interacted regularly with Federal & State Legislatures, County Board of Supervisors and local officials on city matters.
