- Perform engineer's watch and work routines, and at all-time ensure itsobservance.- Maintenance of Purifiers, air compressors, boiler & jacket water chemicallevels,- lifeboat engines as directed by the Chief & Second Engineer.- To assist Chief Engineer during Bunkering operations.- Supervision of personnel in his/her charge which includes:1. Orientation.2. Health and safety.3. Environmental protection.4. Use of manuals and procedures.5. Proper use of tools and equipment.6. Standard maintenance and operating practices.7. Ensuring that chemicals are used in a safe and responsible manner as perMaterial Safety Data Sheet instruction.8. Perform maintenance schedule according to PMS System to the Chief &Second Engineer's requirements.9. Carry out work schedules for unplanned events to the Chief & SecondEngineer's requirements.10. Maintenance of order and cleanliness to the Chief & Second Engineer'srequirements.11. Develop the skills and confidence of the more junior members of the team.13. Check stock of purifiers, air compressors, boiler & jacket water chemicallevels, lifeboat engines spare parts in order to ensure that minimumrequirements can be kept at all times.14. Ensure that work and follow up of Critical Equipment and spares are doneas per Management of Critical equipment procedure

- Follows the instructions of the First Engineer and attends the engine control room usually as part of the First Engineer's watch- Assists in the maintenance and repair of engine room equipment, as well as other mechanical equipment throughout the ship- As part of the training process duties that are customary to the engine department will be assigned to the Engine Cadet by the Chief Engineer
