Over 30 years in pharmacy profession. First 10 years were focused on clinical pharmacy practice in hospital and HMO clinic settings. Pioneered the practice of managed care pharmacy from early 80's on. Worked for staff model HMO, network/IPA model health plans, hospital owned vertically integrated health plan, large corporate insurance company and an Rx claims adjudication & data reporting software company. I've worked with Medicaid, Medicare & commercial plans. I have been a long time advocate for the valued role of the pharmacist in managed healthcare settings as well as traditional pharmacist settings.In 2001 I made a career shift and started up a company (with a partner) who's mission was to provide intelligent software, support services & business consulting to healthcare entities that have contractual relationships with pharmaceutical & biotech companies to help them improve their purchasing and cost savings efforts. We were successful and in 2012 sold our company to a large pharmacy benefits management interest. I am presently in "temporary retirement" mode.
