SAME AS BEFORE EXCEPT ADDITIONAL BELOW:• Responsible for network infrastructure technologies which includes local/wide area network, wireless communications, network hardware/firmware, remote access, network services/applications, network security, and Internet access • Responsible for campus Data Center infrastructure which include server administration, virtualization, security, large-scale data storage systems (SAN) and data backup administration, and environmental controls• Responsible for telecommunications technologies which includes voice and telephone systems, VoIP technologies, mobile voice communications, and related campus wiring infrastructure.• Responsible for technical management of E911 and Emergency Crisis Communications systems.• Responsible for technical support of the network, servers, and data storage systems running the campus security cameras• Works with the user community to evaluate current operations practices and uses these evaluations to insure the continued effectiveness and efficiency of the infrastructure• Ensures the performance, availability, and security of all College systems are monitored• Identifies the problems preventing the advancement of the systems and either develops a remedy to these problems or seeks assistance to resolve the problems• Plans the evolution of the infrastructure and, in particular, plans the acquisition of additional capacity in accordance with needs of the College

• Leads the department by defining objectives, setting priorities, and performing technical duties that drive successful project completion and align with the College’s strategic planning goals• Responsible for network and infrastructure technologies which includes local/wide area network, network hardware/firmware, remote access, network services/applications, network security, and Internet access • Works with the user community to evaluate current operations practices and uses these evaluations to insure the continued effectiveness and efficiency of the network resources• Ensures that the performance, availability and security of all systems are monitored• Identify the problems preventing the advancement of the systems and either develops a remedy to these problems or seeks assistance to resolve the problems• Plans the evolution of the infrastructure and, in particular, will plan the acquisition of additional capacity in accordance with needs of the College • Coordinates with the other Information Technology Departments in order to provide comprehensive and integrated technology support in accordance with needs of the College while meeting security and compliance requirements, and to design and implement contingency and disaster recovery programs• Responsible for effective data backup systems, network security measures, physical LAN and WAN connections, adequate file/print services, server applications, and protocol services• Provides second and third level technical assistance in routing, routing protocols, network design, server applications, data communications on T1, DS3 or other WAN connections, network operating systems, and server hardware • Collaboratively develops and implements a Network Services strategic plan in support of system reliability and growth as part of the entire information technology strategic planning process• Prepares and administers Network Services budgets • Manages security configurations and deploys patches

• Recommend and implement changes to ensure the stable performance, integrity, and security of the College network• Recommend and implement infrastructure modifications required to meet the changing needs of the College• Collaborate in the design and support of the virtualized server environment and associated storage area network (SAN) environment• Collaborate, design, and optimize advanced network architecture including but not limited to software, switches, VLAN, LAN, WAN, firewalls, and routers• Provide advanced technology support and troubleshooting of all MCC network technologies• Provide technologies that facilitate system integration and data exchange• Set up and management of DNS, NIS, NFS, DHCP, and other network services• Installation of firewalls and daily maintenance of NAT, VPN, PAT, and Protocol filtering• Provide timely communications with IT staff and college community• Provide assistance and application training to the IT staff concerning the Network or other applications• Regularly perform Network documentation• Manage projects coordinating with end-user services, computing services, and communications technologies
