CurrentAs the Executive Director of Sustainable Agri-Business and Estate Management, I lead the strategic and comprehensive management of a diverse multi-hectare property in Australia. My role involves harmonising innovative and sustainable agricultural practices with effective estate management to create a productive and environmentally balanced operation.I oversee the silviculture, cultivation and utilisation of multiple hardwood species, ensuring sustainable timber production and the provision of materials for various uses. In addition, I manage planning of pastureland dedicated to the raising a variety of livestock, optimising land use, enhancing soil health and promoting animal welfare.A significant part of my role involves ensuring the maintenance and utilisation of two large dams, which provide essential water resources for estate operations and support a thriving populations of multiple species of fish, all within Australia's challenging climate conditions. I lead the innovative implementation of agri-voltaics, where solar photovoltaic panels are mounted at an elevated height and spaced further apart to allow light underneath. This setup not only facilitates livestock grazing but also enables the growth of plants not suited to full sun, effectively combining renewable energy production with diverse agricultural activities.Embracing smart agriculture and data-driven techniques, I use leading tech to optimise resource use and efficiency. I cultivate mycelium and other sustainable plants within wooded areas, enhancing biodiversity and soil health through natural resource management.Strategically planning the estate, I maximise productivity, sustainability, and environmental stewardship for long-term viability. My approach blends traditional agriculture with cutting-edge practices, creating a model of modern agri-business.
