Delivered a three-month analytics research project to estimate the remaining oil reserves on Europe’s largest oil field (Clair Ridge, 8 Billion BOE) utilising analytical reservoir performance prediction techniques ranging from traditional Decline Curve Analysis, to advanced Dual Porosity Dual Permeability methods.

Structural design and drawing of a major industrial renovation project in Longford Town, including of a new three story office block.

Managed the manufacture, reporting and resolution of production issues, and final sign-off of pre-fabricated concrete units in alignment with agreed project milestones.

This 5 month internship forms an important part of NUI Galway's degree program. I thoroughly enjoyed my learning experience in Arup where I was based in the geotechnical and maritime group. I assisted engineers on various projects across Ireland and overseas. It involved the use of programs (some of which were new to me) including Slope 19.0, AGS gINT, MX Road, AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.Duties and responsibilities included:- The completion of a wall finish survey as part of the River Dodder Flood Alleviation Scheme Phases 2C-2E.- Drafting Tender documents for a geophysical survey off the French coast.- Checking Bills of Quantities for errors from prospective tenderers- Familiarisation with pyrite and it's effects on structures and assisting in numerous pyrite affected projects- Creating geotechnical cross sections for various sites - Using my technical skills on various aspects of the design of a 13.5km single carriageway bypass

This job involved assisting first year engineering students of NUI Galway with any problems and queries they may have had using AutoCAD. I assisted them with their AutoCAD assignments and supervised their work weekly during a 3 hour computer laboratory based session and collected their assignments for correction at the end of the lab.
