The core business was the supply of re-conditioned separators, decanter and associated equipment to the dairy, brewery, chemical, food process and waste water industries. We also supplied various types of plate and tubular heat exchangers.Working within all aspects of the workshop / projects department: • Assessing and applying suitable design solutions. • Producing general arrangement, assembly, plant site layout, detailing & process flow drawings for end client / supplier / workshop using AutoCAD. • Supervisory role to ensure project work progressed in-house to agreed deadlines.• Created in house system for control management of drawings and documents. • Estimating, raising bills of material & ordering materials.• Quality Assurance / Control role covering in-house or supplier issues.• Creating photographic documentation to aid Engineering and Sales departments. • Provided an I.T. support role within the company

The project required the production of an electronic parts catalogue for the engineering and sales departments. The major steps of the project were: • Establish the presentation format with engineering design and sales departments. • Generation of true scale drawing files using AutoCAD. • Modify to the presentation format and compile master catalogue. • Recommendations for presentation, i.e. packaging and attached literature.• Liaise with Engineering and Sales personnel.

Undergraduate placement at BAE Systems - Military Aircraft. Worked on a Quality Improvement project associated with military/civilian airframe inspection (O.S.A. protected).

Served my time in a variety of manufacturing and engineering office areas within the aero engine manufacturing plant at Hillington. During my apprenticeship I learned various skills including; turning, milling, grinding, vertical boring, NC/CNC machining, component inspection. Engineering Support, Design & CAD placements in Tooling Design and Blade Design offices. After completing my apprenticeship I worked in a manufacturing cell producing compressor rings, casings and associated components for the compressor & turbine stage of RR's range of aero engines (Trent, RB211, Spey, Tay, Dart).
