In 1984, Robert Richter and Steve Dunefsky (retired) founded Empire Coffee Roasters to provide private label options to office coffee service (OCS) and food service distributors across the country. The business grew, and in 1994 moved to its current Port Chester, New York location—a 40,000 square foot facility dedicated to roasting, grinding and packaging coffee for clients of all sizes. Empire keeps evolving, too; in 2013, the company began developing custom retail packaging for its in-house brands including Waterfront Roasters and Rainforest Java. Now, Empire is committed as ever to providing the best coffee at competitive prices.
