Construction Manager

The Gurabo Operations & Compliance Improvement Project ($35.3MM)objective is to improve productivity, compliance and flexibility within thefacilities; to achieve resources optimization, improve material flow, reducewaste and improve in-process goods flow, and compliance with currentregulatory requirements of US and international agencies. The project isdivided in several phases and construction activities will take concurrentwith adjacent manufacturing operations. Approximately 50,000 SQF ofpharmaceutical space including Washroom, Clean Equipment Spaces,Tooling Storage, Manufacturing Shop, Weigh Area, Gown-Degown Area,Printing, Coaters, Compression, Solution Preparation, Granulator, BlendingRooms and Corridors, Managed the preconstruction including Valueengineering, design and constructability review, proposals, estimates andBid packages (Scope of work) preparation. Responsible for all trades andassistance to the C&Q efforts. Managed the construction efforts startingfrom the Project Execution Plan, Safety, schedule, and budget until theProject close-out and turnover to the Owner. Monitoring and updatingPersonal Stats

Cost and Schedule Status Reports. Coordination with Manufacturing forspecial works time frames agreements to avoid impact to regularoperations,; Managed the preconstruction and construction of capital projects relatedto the refurbish, modification and upgrade to the existingManufacturing/Utilities Facilities, systems and areas. Preconstructionincluded Value engineering, design and constructability review, proposals,estimates and Bid packages (Scope of work) preparation. Responsible forall trades and assistance to the C&Q efforts. Managed the constructionefforts starting from the Project Execution Plan, schedule, and budget untilthe Project close-out and turnover to the Owner. Monitoring and updatingSubcontractors’ equipment and material procurement, schedules,submittals, cost events and invoices. Cost and Schedule Status Reports tothe Owner. Participated in several Upgrade projects such as Building 103Module 6A, V-Blender #3; Scrubber Replacement and New Laser Drill 8 &Airlock PAT Lab projects.

Managed the preconstruction and construction of capital projects ($5MM)related to the refurbish, modification and upgrade to the existing OTCFacilities, systems and Manufacturing areas. Preconstruction includedValue engineering, constructability review, proposals, estimates and Bidpackages preparation. Managed the construction efforts starting from theProject Execution Plan, schedule, and budget until the Project close-out.Participated in several projects such as Low Cost Advil, Dietary Supplement

Bin Blender, Solution Prep Retrofit and Fast Acting Advil projects.; The $100MM ($32MM CM) project required all Construction andCommissioning works for the modification of an existing 188,000 SQFPRIDCO building into LifeScan’s new OneTouch Ultra Expansion Facility.

Installation of 2 dehumidifiers, HVAC, fire protection. HVAC duct workinstallation, new 20,000 gallons fuel oil tank for emergency generator.Electrical scope of work included MCC installation, interior lighting,receptacles, panels and other devises. Specialty items included theinstallation of BAS, telephone, data and fire alarm system.; Project consisted of the construction of Administration Building 90,500square feet, a Cafeteria with a 47,700 square feet Training Center and aVisitor’s Center 3,700 square feet. Site works involved the construction ofthe North and South Entrances with multiple parking facilities. Responsiblefor the mechanical scope which included utility systems and chill water forAHU’s, fire protection with site underground and interior systems, HVACduct work installation, centrifugals and sump pumps. Electrical scope ofwork included new MCC, 5KV emergency generator, UPS and 13KVAsubstation, transformers, switch gears. Additional scope included lighting,receptacles, panels and other devises. Specialty items included theinstallation of Building Management System, telephone, data and fire alarmsystem.
